UPDATE! Due to the wonderful interest in the dance, a second date has been added for families that had to be put on the waiting list! A second Father/Daughter dance will be held on March 10th! Inaugural Father-Daughter Dance at the Philips Hotel on Feb. 18
February 18th will be a night to remember! Front and Centre Productions is excited to announce what it hopes to become an annual event in Philipsburg.
All fathers and “Daddy’s Little Girls” of all ages are cordially invited to a first-ever Father-Daughter Dance on Saturday, February 18, 2012 in the elegant Philips Hotel Ballroom from 6-8:30pm. This semi-formal event will include a DJ for dancing, refreshments, photographs, and a keepsake souvenir. All tickets are reserved in advance of the event.
The dance is limited to 125 participants, so it is wise to reserve a space now. All-inclusive tickets are $10.00 per person for the father and one daughter, with each additional daughter’s ticket at $5.00. In today’s ever-busy society, it is sometimes difficult to find time for fathers (and mothers) to spend with their children. This father-to-child relationship is important and the father-daughter relationship is unique. A daughter who grows up having a comfortable, communicative, supportive relationship with her father generally has advantages such as: higher academic achievement, self-confidence, independence, resisting peer pressure, assertion, open-minded, and much more. Spending quality time together can foster open communication about meaningful matters, thereby developing a positive relationship.
Front and Centre Productions is a non-profit performing arts organization seeking to offer quality arts opportunities to central Pennsylvania. IGNITE Youth Theatre is one program that Front and Centre offers having produced Seussical and Les Miserables the past two years. Summer 2012 will see the classic award-winning musical Guys and Dolls to the stage July 27-29, 2012 at the Philipsburg-Osceola High School.
This Father-Daughter Dance is an excellent way to begin or continue the journey between a father and his daughter(s). This could be the beginning of a new adventure for all fathers and their “princesses.”
